Criminal Justice Symposium Returns to ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´

On Wednesday, April 5, 2023, the annual Criminal Justice Symposium returns to the University of ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ – Fort Smith. The educational and career-centered event will take place in the Smith-Pendergraft Campus Center Reynolds Room from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

The Criminal Justice program at ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ is among the fastest growing on campus. Students majoring in criminal justice and those interested in the criminal justice field are encouraged to attend. Those in attendance can network with local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies.

Department of Criminal Justice instructor Dr. Mary Wuestewald explained the benefits of a focused symposium for students to meet with potential employers, gain further information on graduate programs in the discipline, and learn more about internships to obtain practical, hands-on experience.

The Criminal Justice Symposium will kick off with back-to-back panels discussing options for practitioners and graduate or law school. An internship presentation will follow before Matthew Eggert, a prosecutor and ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ graduate, delivers the keynote address.

Questions can be directed to Wuestewald at (479) 788-7744 or Jeff Adams, the ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ Babb Center for Career Services assistant director, at (479) 788-7221.
