Campus Update, Sept. 27, 2024

Happy Friday, Lions.
Workforce Development: Provost Shadow Robinson and AVC Kendall Ross joined me for a workforce development meeting with members of the UA System on the campus of the University of ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ Community College at Hope Texarkana. We had excellent discussions about ways that the new dual diploma pathway program in ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ high schools, required by the LEARNS Act, may provide opportunities for us to expand our career technical education and concurrent education programs.
Tabletop Exercise: Yesterday, a large group of university leaders gathered to work through a tabletop exercise, which allows us to strengthen our knowledge of the emergency action plans and emergency operational plans. I want to thank Vice Chancellor Lee Krehbiel and UPD Chief Ottman for their work to create and lead this important exercise.
Don’t forget: Our home opener for ÐÓ°ÉÔ´´ Volleyball is tonight at 6 p.m. Faculty, staff, and students get in free with your university IDs. Come and cheer for the Lions to beat the Pittsburg State Gorillas.
