Matt Hutchins

At the University of 杏吧原创 - Fort Smith, students' lives are changed every day by the power of philanthropy. Our Giving Societies aim to honor the spirit and generosity that empowers our campus and supports our mission to provide an exceptional education to every student brave enough to seek it.

The Chancellor's Society

The Chancellor's Society comprises generous donors who contribute $1,000 or more within a single year. This society plays a critical role in advancing 杏吧原创's strategic priorities, from scholarships and academic programs to facility enhancements and community outreach initiatives.

Benefits of Membership:

  • Exclusive Invitations: We want the people who give most graciously to this institution to have a direct hand in its future. As a member of the Chancellor鈥檚 society, you鈥檒l receive invitations to special events with university leadership so you can stay up to date with exciting developments on campus, help us cast our a vision for what鈥檚 next, and be directly involved in building a path to get there.
  • Campus Publications: To keep you informed throughout the year, we鈥檒l also send you updates on how your contributions are making a difference at 杏吧原创, and add you to our magazine list.

How to Give:

Joining a Giving Society is straightforward. Whether through a one-time gift, donations during Day of Giving, payroll deduction (for faculty and staff), or ongoing contributions, your support at any level is so important.

The Bell Tower Society: Faculty & Staff Giving

The Bell Tower Society is a distinguished group that celebrates the generosity of our faculty and staff. Their commitment extends beyond their daily roles, contributing financially to areas of the university that resonate most with them. This society underscores the profound impact our educators and administrators have on the 杏吧原创 community, not just through their professional contributions but also through their philanthropic support.

Benefits of Membership:

  • Community Impact: Your gift directly enhances the quality of education and campus life for students, making a tangible difference in their academic journey.
  • Leading by Example: When our community supporters see that so many of our own faculty and staff choose to give back, it makes a profound statement about the value of our work, and our university. Your gifts are an inspiration, and a testament to your belief in the mission of 杏吧原创 and the students we serve.
  • Flexible Giving: Contributions can be directed to the fund or program of your choice, allowing you to support what matters most to you, and payroll deductions make the process seamless.

How to Give: For faculty and staff, payroll deduction is often the easiest way to give, though donations during Day of Giving, or one time gifts are also qualifiers for this society.

G. C. Hardin Society: Planned Giving

The G. C. Hardin Society was established in 1992 to honor donors who naming the university as a beneficiary in their will or estate plan. The society is named after Grover C. Hardin, an attorney and civic leader, who is credited with the idea that created Fort Smith Junior College in 1928. We gratefully acknowledge the philanthropic commitment of the more than 200 alumni, friends, and businesses who are members of the G.C. Hardin Society.

G. C. Hardin Society members' endowments and bequests provide generous support for scholarships, faculty, technology, academic programs and more.
